History of the Brewery
One of the most unique features of San Ottaviano is our farmhouse brewery.
In 2012, Francesco Neri began his adventure as a master brewer in the world of craft beer. In a region best known for its vineyards, Francesco decided to turn his barley into beer, giving birth to Birra de’Neri.
Within the Tenuta San Ottaviano, the entire production process takes place, from the cultivation of the barley to the bottling of the beer. Thanks to this, de’Neri beer can be labelled ‘Agricultural Beer’, a rarity in the world of beer.
TOURS & TASTINGS
Guided tours and tastings
From April to October, we conduct tours of our brewery once a week or by appointment.
Other private tours and out-of-hours
Possibility of customising the tour with a Tuscan chopping board or other snacks to accompany the tasting.
FOOD & BEER
At our restaurant
We also offer a dedicated beer menu featuring four courses prepared with Birra de’Neri and a beer to accompany each course.
For example, BBQ ribs with coleslaw and a risotto with garden vegetables, local buffalo burrata and beer reduction.
